Renowned Actor Hassan Youssef dies at age 90

Renowned Egyptian actor Hassan Youssef died in the early hours of Tuesday at the age of 90, his brother Mohamed Youssef announced on Facebook.

The golden era actor appeared in more than 100 films and TV series.

Since the 1960s, Youssef rose to fame, participating in numerous films, such as Women and Wolves (1960), featuring Hind Rostom and Emad Hamdi; A Marriage Story (1964), with Soad Hosni and Shokry Sarhan; Nice Trip (1971), with Naglaa Fathy; and Sound of Love (1973), starring alongside Algerian artist Warda.

He appeared in several TV series, including Dalia The Egyptian (1982), Alf Leila W Leila: Leila W Al-Ashkeef (1989), and Zohra and Her Five Husbands (2010).

Youssef also directed several films, including The Coward and The Love (1975), Enough, Heart (1977), The Migrating Birds (1978), and Two on the Road (1984), all of which starred his wife, former Egyptian actress Shams Al-Baroudi, alongside other renowned actors.

Youssef and Al-Baroudi had four children.
