The step aims to enhance connectivity between Egyptian tourist destinations and support air and tourism traffic, according to a statement from the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
The airline inaugurated a new route linking Cairo, Aswan, and Abu Simbel on Monday, carrying over 70 international tourists on its inaugural flight.
Air Cairo has also increased its weekly flight frequency to 26 between Cairo and Aswan, nine between Aswan and Abu Simbel, and 20 between Cairo and Luxor.
Air Cairo Chairman Capt. Ahmed Shannan said the airline increased its domestic flights this year to meet customer demand and bolster tourism from Arab and European markets.
Additionally, Air Cairo is launching its first flights from Giza’s Sphinx International Airport to Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada, with four flights weekly to connect the Red Sea resorts with the pyramids area and Giza.
This coincides with the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
Air Cairo also runs four weekly flights between Alexandria and the cities of Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada.
The company plans to expand its international network to attract more tourists from Arab and European countries and strengthen its domestic presence to meet growing demand.
By March 2025, Air Cairo aims to increase its fleet to 40 aircraft, reflecting its commitment to supporting and stimulating inbound tourism to Egypt, according to the statement.
Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh El-Hefny emphasized the ministry's commitment to supporting the national strategy for growing inbound tourism to Egypt, targeting 30 million visitors by 2028.
