Midfielder Mahmoud Saber opened the scoring in the 34th minute, with El-Hodoud midfielder Mohamed Ashraf leveling the score from the penalty spot just before halftime.
Moroccan winger Abdelkabir El Ouadi added the second goal right before the break, giving Smouha a 2-1 lead going into halftime.
In the second half, Smouha striker Hossam Hassan only needed a minute to score the third goal, helping his team secure the first three points of the season.
Later on Wednesday, Talae El-Geish will face Masry at Suez stadium.
This season introduces a new system with a single-round format involving all 18 clubs, where the top nine teams will advance to compete for the title in another single round.
The remaining clubs will compete to determine the two teams that will be relegated.
The Egyptian Premier League (EPL) have decided to reduce the number of relegated teams from three to two.
