These divisions are notably evident between the America First wing and the traditionalist faction within the party.

Amidst this division, Scott Sturgill, Congressional candidate and chairman of the Republican Party Committee in Florida, is working to unify the party under a shared vision.

Sturgill aims to rally members from various ideological spectrums around a common objective: defeating the Democratic nominee, Kamala Harris.

He believes the party’s strength lies in its commitment to issues that matter to all Americans, such as securing borders and achieving energy independence.

He emphasizes the importance of restoring citizens’ trust in American democracy through transparency and close monitoring of the electoral process. In this interview, Sturgill outlines his vision for strengthening party unity, attracting new voter demographics, and safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process.

SZ: With growing competition within the Republican Party between traditionalists and the 'America First' faction, how does this internal division impact party unity in the upcoming election? Can a unified vision bring these factions together under one umbrella?

SS: Despite the diversity of views within the Republican Party and the differences between the traditionalist wing and the 'America First' faction, the core objectives remain clear and unchanging. The party is united 100 percent behind a central goal: defeating Kamala Harris and undoing the damage caused by Joe Biden’s policies.

Today’s focus is on issues that directly affect US security and stability. Top priorities include securing the southern border, enhancing energy independence, and reforming the economy to make the American Dream a reality for every citizen.

Regardless of ideological leanings, every party member understands that the current moment demands solidarity and that the priority must be the good of the entire nation. President Trump is a symbol of unity and action to restore America’s status, and the party, with a clear vision, can rally all factions under one strong and sustainable umbrella. This unity requires a well-defined vision, and our goal today is to provide that vision to ensure that all party members move in one direction for the nation's benefit.

SZ: As issues of identity and belonging increasingly influence voter choices, how does the Republican Party balance the needs of its traditional base with the demands of attracting minority and young voters without compromising its political principles?

SS: Preserving the conservative values upon which the United States was founded remains a cornerstone of the Republican Party’s strategy, as these values reflect the nation's principles.

However, the party recognizes the importance of adapting to demographic shifts and the evolving aspirations of new generations. While specific social issues, like marriage and women’s rights, might be points of contention, the party is trying to find a measured balance that enables it to uphold its principles without sacrificing the ability to connect with all segments of society.

Expanding economic opportunities is fundamental to attracting minorities and young voters. The party strives to provide real economic opportunities that enable every American to fulfil their ambitions in a country that guarantees their stability and future. The Republican Party continuously works to strengthen this balance through policies that address the needs of traditional voters while opening doors to a broader base. The party’s appeal must be expanded without compromising its core political values.

SZ: Given the challenges facing American democracy, including doubts about election integrity and the independence of the judiciary, what is the Republican Party’s vision for strengthening citizens’ trust in the electoral system and preventing the recurrence of divisions seen after the last election?

SS: Ensuring the integrity of the electoral process is a top priority for the Republican Party, and this responsibility stems from a deep-seated belief in the need to renew citizens’ trust in American democracy.

The party has deployed legal teams to monitor election proceedings at the local and state levels closely, emphasizing the need to act firmly to ensure the electoral process runs transparently. While most states upheld integrity in the previous election, some cases arose where laws were amended without the approval of relevant legislative bodies. Such incidents cannot be overlooked and require strict intervention to safeguard the integrity of democracy.

The Republican Party’s vision focuses on rebuilding the American people’s trust in the electoral system through rigorous monitoring and using all available legal tools. This trust requires practical commitment and ongoing dedication, and the party is determined to ensure that election results accurately and transparently reflect the people’s will, making this trust a cornerstone of the democratic process.

SZ: In light of criticism that the Republican Party is increasingly leaning towards populism, how does it envision its future in adopting policies that reflect sustainable, long-term visions, especially concerning economic and social issues affecting all segments of American society?

SS: For the Republican Party, the future requires adopting policies that reflect the aspirations of the American people and guarantee long-term stability. Therefore, the focus remains on core issues that concern most Americans, such as economic freedom, energy independence, and border security. These issues embody the concerns of ordinary citizens, for whom the Republican Party feels a responsibility to safeguard their interests, regardless of partisan affiliations.

At the same time, the party recognizes that specific social issues require a more flexible approach, as dealing with personal matters as private is part of its vision of creating an environment that enhances individual freedom and makes the party more attractive to a broader audience. This shift toward the centre does not compromise the party’s principles; instead, it reflects a belief in the need to adapt to societal changes without compromising core values. The Republican Party aims to achieve an inclusive vision that meets the needs of all societal segments and ensures a sustainable future for coming generations.

SZ: How does the Republican Party evaluate the influence of political and financial lobbying on the electoral process? Is there an intent to increase transparency in election campaigns and reduce the impact of political money, particularly in swaying votes in swing states?

SS: The influence of money spent in election campaigns, especially from secretive political action committees, poses a real challenge. These funds are often used to spread misinformation and distort public opinion in non-transparent ways. This negative influence threatens the integrity of the electoral process. It undermines public trust in the political system as a whole.

The Republican Party recognizes the urgent need to take serious steps to enhance transparency in election campaigns and limit the influence of dark money that may skew election outcomes, particularly in swing states that could play a decisive role in determining the country’s future.

Enhancing transparency requires legislative and societal efforts to ensure voters’ voices reflect their true will without harmful financial interference. The Republican Party is committed to protecting voters from detrimental financial influences, making the electoral process fairer and more transparent, and preserving the democracy the American people cherish.
