New films across cinemas
Wednesday and Friday, 6 and 8 November, bring several new films to movie theatres across Egypt:
- Red One, starring Lucy Liu, Chris Evans, and Dwayne Johnson.
- 10 Lives, an animation film starring Mo Gilligan, Simone Ashley, and Sophie Okonedo.
- Piece By Piece, starring Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams, and Gwen Stefani.
- El-Hawa Sultan, starring Menna Shalaby, Ahmed Dawood, and Ahmad Khaled Saleh.
- Goodbye Hamdi, starring Bayoumi Fouad, Shereen Reda, and Aya Samaha.
- Heretic, starring Sophie Thatcher, Hugh Grant, Chloe East, and Elle McKinnon.
- Rafaat Einy Lel Sama, starring Majda Masoud, Haidi Sameh, and Monika Youssef.
- Swan Lake, starring Sae Eun Park, Paul Marque, and Pablo Legasa.
Cairo Jazz Festival (CJF)
Running until 8 November
AUC Tahrir Campus, Cairo
CJF is the only festival dedicated to this music genre in Egypt.
The 16th edition will feature musicians from 15 countries. It focuses on Latin jazz, which combines American and Brazilian artists.
This year, the festival highlights the rich history of Latin jazz and its European (mainly Portuguese) and African influences.

Downtown Contemporary Arts Festival (D-CAF)
Running until 10 November
Several venues across Cairo and Alexandria
The 12th edition of D-CAF will feature 124 artists from 21 countries.
The festival will showcase 23 varied performances, encompassing dance, theatre, audiovisual presentations, and interactive experiences.
It will also offer a lineup of two exhibitions and nine workshops.

Damietta Festival
1-9 November
Venues across Damietta, New Damietta, and Ras El-Bar
Founded in the Damietta governorate, the nine-day festival features art and photography exhibitions, graffiti shows, live music, and theatre performances.
The inaugural edition will also offer cultural tours, heritage lectures, museum exhibits, furniture displays, workshops in sweet-making, and traditional crafts tours.
Furthermore, the festival will host sports events, including cycling and running races, various sea and river sports, and fitness competitions.

Egyptian Caricature Day - exhibition
Thursday, 7 November until 16 November
Isis and Nahdet Misr halls, Mahmoud Mokhtar Cultural Centre, El-Tahrir, Zamalek, Cairo
The fourth Egyptian Caricature Day exhibition will honour late caricature artist Mostafa Hussein.
The exhibition will display over 100 caricature works.
The Egyptian Caricature Society, in cooperation with the Fine Arts sector, has organized the exhibition.
Saad El-Oud - music
Thursday, 7 November, 8pm
Theatro Arkan, Sheikh Zayed City, Cairo
Oud player Saad El-Oud plays songs representing authentic Egyptian heritage while interacting with the audience.
El-Oud frequently performed across the Gulf countries and is an active musician, moving between renowned venues and small spaces hosting up-and-coming independent bands.
Tablet Elsitt - music
Thursday, 7 November, 8pm
El-Sawy Culturewheel, River Hall, 26th of July Street, Zamalek, Cairo
The troupe consists of women percussionists.
Founded by folk music student and enthusiast Soha Mohamed in 2019, the group is restoring Egypt’s musical heritage.
Amr Diab - music
Friday, 8 November, 11pm
Cairo Gate Compound, Sheikh Zayed City, Cairo
Egypt’s megastar Diab will perform a selection of his well-known songs.
Al-Hadaba, as his fans refer to him, released two singles, Tetehabi and El Ta'ama, last June.
Diab is by far the most successful singer of his generation. The 63-year-old Guinness World Record holder remains among the most-listened-to artists on streaming platforms, and thousands attend his live concerts.
In his decades-long career, Diab has released over 30 albums and garnered countless regional and international accolades.

Glass Onion Band - music
Friday, 8 November, 8pm
Cairo Opera House, Open Air Theatre, Zamalek, Cairo
The Beatles tribute band will be performing the famous Abbey Road album, as well as other songs.
Glass Onion will be joined by Isis String Orchestra, under the baton of Khaled Saleh.
Abu Shaar Brothers - music

El-Sawy Culturewheel, Wisdom Hall, 26th of July Street, Zamalek, Cairo
Formed in 1983, the Abu Shaar Brothers (in Arabic "El Ekhwa Abu Shaar") from Syria began as a quartet presenting music and chants that praise Prophet Muhammad.
The band's youngest member was just 11 years old at the time of formation. As the band’s popularity began to grow, new generations subsequently joined the ensemble.
Soon Abu Shaar Brothers became an internationally renowned Syrian Islamic Nasheed group whose music and lyrics focus on a religious repertoire.
The highly popular band in Egypt and the Arab region now have more than 600,000 followers on social media such as Facebook and Instagram.
The Abu Shaar Brothers currently reside in Egypt, where they hold many concerts.
Manial Palace Festival

The Golden Hall, Manial Palace, Cairo
The fifth edition of the classical music festival in historic Manial Palace will feature the Egyptian Harp Ensemble, followed by Egyptian tenor Ragaa Eldin.
The festival was founded in 2018 by the Friends of Manial Palace Association, which was established in 2006 by Prince Abbas Hilmi, the grandson of Abbas Hilmi II, the last Khedive of Egypt.
Somaya Darwesh - music

Somaya Darwesh is an Egyptian singer who released her first album in 2007.
Darwesh sang theme songs for films, including Bank Statement (2007) and Flashpoint (2008).
