The Photographic Gallery

"Eyewitness" exhibition is a photographic documentary about the aftermath of armed conflicts by award winning documentary photographer René Clement. Eyewitness brings together Clement's photo work from six conflict zones. The exhibition documents stories of suffering from the Palestinian West Bank (occupied since 1967), Afghanistan (war between 2001 - 2021), Iraq (war between 2003 - 2011), Bosnia (war between 1992 - 1995), Mexico (indigenous uprising against government in 1994), and Haiti (coup d’etat in 2004) (7 November- 12 December).

She brings together a hundred of her paintings and different entities, which have influenced her throughout her 25-year long career in this exhibition. Accompanied by the exhibition, there will be a unique experience of enjoying art, music, dance, poetry, fashion, movies and seminars all under one roof at the Factory Space. Fashion shows by Her Royal Highness Princess Shrouq Bint Fahad from Saudi Arabia and renowned sustainable Egyptian international brand Sacer (9-15 November).

“Faysal, Last Stop” exhibition is a project that draws from collective critical cartography and mapping as a tool to explore migratory trajectories and highlight subaltern voices. While Sudanese have settled in various districts depending on pre-war connections to Egypt and their social backgrounds, a significant number have moved to Faysal neighbourhood where there is a high concentration of migrants from diverse nationalities. Faysal is undergoing transformations as Sudanese redefine the urban landscape, forming "new geographies of space-making" in Cairo (1-29 November).

"Ready to Leave" installation, part of Ready to Go project, by Sameh El-Taweel transforms the car into a powerful symbol of migration, identity and displacement. Using a combination of found objects, cultural symbols and soundscapes, El-Taweel delves into the emotional tension between the desire to move and the inability to let go of the past (17 November- 15 December).

"The Return of the Day" is a solo exhibition of drawings and travel notebooks on Egypt by Swiss-Italian painter, musician, and carnettiste Dominique Sighanda. The exhibition comes within the context of the series of activities organized by the embassy of Switzerland in celebration of the 90th anniversary of the Friendship Treaty between Switzerland and Egypt. The exhibition offers a unique perspective on Egypt, as seen through the eyes of Sighanda, inspired by her journeys between the Giza plateau, the necropolis of Saqqara, and visits to the two museums in Cairo and Turin 

(closing 10 November).  

"Inside Out…Your Color" exhibition of painting by Marianna Simonetti. The artist represents feelings through the female universe, made up precisely of gestures, attitudes, conversations and complicity. The paintings are bright, the women and girls emanate light, beauty. In the polyptychs, Simonetti tells a story or treats a theme lightly, provoking positive emotions. She depicts determined and elegant women who describe even simple behavior with grace (14-18 November).

"Forever Is Now" fourth edition showcases the works of 12 illustrious international artists, each contributing a unique vision to a collective dialogue that transcends barriers of time and culture. The theme invites participants to act as modern archaeologists, using creativity to uncover hidden meanings in the everyday. The use of unconventional materials strengthens this vision, demonstrating how art requires a careful gaze at the unexpected and the courage to value what seems ordinary. Among other participating artists are Luca Boffi and Federica Di Carlo, Jean-Marie Appriou, Xavier Mascaró, Ik-Joong Kang, Jake Michael Singer, Shilo Shiv Suleman, Luca Boffi (24 October-16 November).

"Design for Resistance" interesting exhibition showcases the work of Swiss graphic designer and activist Marc Rudin -also known as Jihad Mansour- renowned for his resistance-focused themes, particularly regarding the Palestinian cause. It features a selection of Rudin's posters and magazine designs, highlighting his bold iconography and political messages that he developed during his collaboration with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine from 1976 to 1991 (26 October - 30 November).
