During the presser, Abdelatty said their discussions have focused on enhancing economic ties and boosting trade exchange between Egypt and Cameroon.
"Egypt is planning to share expertise with Cameroon, particularly in the fields of pharmaceuticals and healthcare," the Egyptian top diplomat stated.
Furthermore, he noted that discussions with Mbella addressed collaboration in constructing dams, energy production, and providing electricity.
Abdelatty also added that they discussed the role of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, the world's top Sunni Islamic institution, in providing scholarships to Cameroonian students.
In addition, he highlighted Egypt's successful experience in eradicating hepatitis C and expressed willingness to share this model with Cameroon to help it overcome similar healthcare challenges.
According to Abdelatty, the Cameroonian FM delivered a message from President Paul Biya to President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi underscoring the depth of relations and mutual interests between both countries.
The Cameroonian FM praised Egypt’s close cooperation with his country and acknowledged the deep-rooted relations between the two nations.
He emphasized Cameroon’s commitment to political stability in Africa and its work to develop diverse sectors such as agriculture, construction, and energy.
Mbella added that both countries have agreed to develop legal mechanisms to facilitate investment ties further.
Moreover, he expressed appreciation for Egypt's ongoing support in multiple fields, acknowledging the state's significant investments in construction and energy.
Egypt-Cameroon Joint Committee
According to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both ministers chaired the seventh Egyptian-Cameroonian Joint Committee, which was held on Tuesday and Wednesday.
They also signed two memorandums of understanding (MoUs): one between Egypt's Institute for Diplomatic Studies and Cameroon's International Relations Institute.
Furthermore, the Cairo International Centre for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding signed an MoU with Cameroon's National Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Committee.
During their discussions, the foreign ministers also underscored their countries' commitment to strengthening governmental, parliamentary, and private-sector partnerships
They emphasized the importance of activating the Egyptian-Cameroonian parliamentary friendship association and organizing a business forum to promote mutual investment.
Egypt also reaffirmed its support for Cameroon’s counter-terrorism efforts, drawing on its extensive experience combating terrorism.
Both sides further stressed their mutual commitment to reinforcing the strong bond between Egypt and Cameroon across regional and international platforms.
