This visit, made at the invitation of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, aims to strengthen the historical relations between Cairo and Kuala Lumpur, which span various political, economic, cultural, and religious fields, stated the Egyptian cabinet.
Ambassador Ragai Nasr, Egypt’s Ambassador to Kuala Lumpur, and Ambassador Mohammad Tared Sofian, Malaysia’s Ambassador to Cairo, attended the reception.
According to a statement issued by Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim on his official social media accounts, this visit offers a valuable opportunity to advance Malaysia-Egypt relations and explore new avenues of cooperation.
Ibrahim added he would deliver a public lecture at Al-Azhar University and engage with Malaysian students at Al-Azhar.
Around 6,500 Malaysian students are enrolled at the Al-Azhar University.
