During a press conference at Al-Ittihadiya Palace, El-Sisi and Ibrahim strongly condemned the Israeli war on Gaza, stressing the need to achieve a ceasefire and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to the strip.
Addressing the regional crises, El-Sisi said that both countries have agreed on the importance of reaching solutions to the conflicts in the region to restore stability.
He also stressed the necessity of reaching a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon, stressing that the only way to end the regional crises is through the two-state solution.
The Malaysian PM, in turn, thanked Egypt for its staunch support for Gaza and its ongoing efforts to reach a ceasefire.
"We are aligned with Egypt on the priority of a ceasefire and achieving peace in the region," Ibrahim stressed.
Egypt-Malaysia Ties
El-Sisi and PM Ibrahim affirmed the importance of developing the ties between Egypt and Malaysia into a comprehensive strategic partnership.
Furthermore, the Egyptian president congratulated the Malaysian PM on his country's assumption of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) presidency.
In return, PM Ibrahim affirmed that Malaysia will support ASEAN's efforts to cooperate with Egypt as a key and active player in the region.
"We look forward to President El-Sisi's visit soon," Ibrahim said during the conference.
Furthermore, the Malaysian PM noted that Egypt is a major African country and confirmed his country's support for Egypt's efforts to advance its economy.
President El-Sisi and PM Ibrahim also witnessed the signing of several agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two countries in various fields.
The Malaysian PM arrived in Cairo on Saturday, heading a high-level delegation. The visit, which comes at the behest of President El-Sisi, lasts several days and coincides with the 65th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Egypt and Malaysia.
