“This is utterly unacceptable and will not absolutely be tolerated under any circumstances,” El-Sisi stated during the summit.
The president also emphasized that establishing an independent Palestinian state along the 4 June 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, stands as the essential prerequisite for achieving regional security and stability.
This will lead to “transitioning from a conflict-ridden regional order to one based on peace and development,” El-Sisi added during the Arab and Islamic nations' summit, taking place after a yearlong Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and Lebanon.
President El-Sisi also condemned Israel's systematic killing campaign being carried out against innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip, criticizing the international community's silence.
The Israeli hostilities are occurring amid the international community's “shameful silence and disgraceful failure” to fulfil its most basic responsibilities in the face of this dangerous threat to global peace and security, he noted.
"Our Arab and Islamic countries' citizens and people of free conscience worldwide are rightfully questioning the value of any discourse on justice while innocent children, women, and the elderly are being brutally slaughtered every day,” he added.
The region and the world stand at a pivotal crossroads, as the appalling aggression on Palestinian and Lebanese territories challenges the core principles of the international order, he affirmed.
Furthermore, El-Sisi stated that Egypt remains dedicated to supporting Lebanon's state institutions, particularly the Lebanese army, and working to halt the outrageous aggression and destruction inflicted upon the Lebanese people.
He reiterated that Egypt exerts efforts to push toward an urgent and immediate ceasefire and ensure the comprehensive and non-selective implementation of Security Council Resolution No. 1701.
The president stressed that Egypt, which initiated the peace process in the region decades ago despite numerous challenges, remains unwaveringly dedicated to peace as a strategic need and the only path forward.
“This peace is grounded in justice, restoration of legitimate rights, and full adherence to international law principles,” he continued.
Despite the gravity of the current situation, Egypt still hopes and believes that a chance exists to rescue the region and the world from the “practices of dark ages,” El-Sisi said.
13 months of Israeli aggression
Israel has reportedly killed over 43,000 Palestinians in Gaza since the war began in October 2023. Nearly 70 percent of the people killed have been women and children, according to a UN analysis.
Its more-than-yearlong war on Gaza has injured over 100,000 Palestinians, causing massive destruction in homes and civilian infrastructure that could take decades to rebuild.
A September assessment based on satellite footage carried out by the UN Institute for Training and Research revealed that Israel's war on Gaza left two-thirds of the strip's buildings damaged or destroyed.
Meanwhile, according to UNOSAT and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, approximately 68 percent of the permanent crop fields in the strip showed "a significant decline in health and density. "
The UN further estimated that nearly 70 percent of Gaza’s water and sanitation plants had been destroyed or damaged.
Additionally, over 3,000 Lebanese were killed and 13,492 injured since the beginning of Israel’s aggression against Lebanon. This includes 589 women and at least 185 children, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health revealed last week.
