According to the Egyptian presidency, El-Sisi's meetings came on the sidelines of the Extraordinary Arab and Islamic Summit in Riyadh.
Lebanese PM
During a meeting with the Lebanese PM, El-Sisi underscored the critical role of the international community in ending the regional escalation and preventing the Middle East from slipping into a devastating war with catastrophic consequences for its people.
He further affirmed that Egypt will continue its persistent efforts to provide all means of support to Lebanon and its people, reiterating Cairo's stance in supporting Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
For his part, the Lebanese PM appreciated Egypt’s steadfast and unwavering support for Lebanon and highlighted Egypt’s efforts to achieve regional peace and stability.
During the meeting, both sides also reviewed ongoing efforts among regional and international parties to push towards an immediate and urgent ceasefire in Lebanon and the implementation of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701.
Jordan king
According to the Egyptian presidency, President El-Sisi also met with Jordan's king, during which both sides discussed regional developments and warned against escalation policies that would push the region to the brink.
They highlighted the joint efforts to achieve peace and enforce a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon, emphasizing their categorical rejection of any forced displacement and the liquidation of the Palestinian cause.
Both leaders further reiterated the critical need for the international community to adopt earnest steps towards ending the war in the region and launching the path of peace based on the two-state solution.
Earlier Monday, El-Sisi participated in the Riyadh summit, where he stressed Egypt's unwavering dedication to peace as a strategic need and the only path forward.
The summit convened Arab and Islamic leaders to address the unprecedented crises unfolding in Gaza and Lebanon amid the ongoing brutal Israeli aggression.
