In its statement, the summit placed full responsibility for the failure of these efforts on Israel, citing its government's reversal of agreements reached by negotiators.
The summit further condemned the ongoing crime of enforced disappearances committed by Israeli forces since the beginning of its aggression against Palestinians in Gaza and other Palestinian territories.
It also issued a strong rebuke of the atrocities being committed by the Israeli military in Gaza, which have been described as acts of genocide.
This includes the discovery of mass graves, torture, extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, theft, and ethnic cleansing, particularly in the northern Gaza Strip.
Palestinian unity
Furthermore, the statement demanded Israel cease its aggressive policies and called for the unification of Palestinian territories, including Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem. The summit also advocated for a complete arms embargo against Israel, accusing it of committing genocide in Gaza.
The summit reiterated the centrality of the Palestinian cause, affirming its steadfast support for the Palestinian people in their struggle for their legitimate and inalienable rights, including the right to freedom and an independent state based on the 4 June 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The statement also upheld the right of Palestinian refugees to return and receive compensation according to international law.
The summit stressed Palestine's complete sovereignty over East Jerusalem, condemning any Israeli decisions or actions aimed at judaizing the city and solidifying its colonial occupation. According to international law and United Nations resolutions, such actions were labelled as illegal.
The statement also condemned Israel’s ongoing brutal aggression on Gaza and Lebanon, calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities and efforts to end the catastrophic humanitarian consequences on civilians — especially children, women, the elderly, and unarmed civilians.
Lebanon war
Regarding Lebanon, the summit condemned Israel’s continuous aggression against Lebanon, including the violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
It called for an immediate ceasefire and the full implementation of the UN Security Council (UNSC) Resolution 1701, expressing solidarity with Lebanon in the face of Israeli aggression.
Additionally, the summit condemned the targeted attacks on the Lebanese army, which resulted in casualties, including deaths and injuries among its personnel.
The destruction of civilian areas and the forced displacement of people were also sharply criticized as part of Israel’s ongoing military operations.
The summit called for continued international efforts to address Israel's grave violations of international law and international humanitarian law.
It warned of the growing regional and international consequences of the escalating conflict, which has extended beyond Gaza to Lebanon and violated the sovereignty of Iraq, Syria, and Iran, with no decisive action from the UN or meaningful international response.
In response to these atrocities, the summit demanded the UNSC form an independent and credible international committee to investigate the war crimes and ensure that the perpetrators are held accountable, preventing any efforts to cover up the evidence.
The summit, held in the Saudi capital of Riyadh on Monday, aimed to address the unprecedented crises unfolding in Gaza and Lebanon amid the ongoing brutal Israeli aggression.
