“The Egyptian government expresses heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathies to the government and people of brotherly Pakistan in this tragic incident,” read a statement from the foreign ministry.

The ministry extended Egypt’s support to the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery for all those injured.

Egypt also reaffirmed its commitment to stand alongside Pakistan in confronting all forms of extremism and terrorism.

According to AP, the separatist Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility of the attack, adding that it left 26 people dead, including soldiers and railway staff, and injured at least 62 others.
