In an interview on Liverpool's Reds Roundtable program on Wednesday, the Egyptian international described his unstoppable desire for success with the Reds, sharing insights from his career, the Champions League final, and the practices that keep him focused.
“I’m a big believer in meditation. It helps you understand your mind and keep calm, and that makes everything easier,” Salah said.
Salah, who has won eight titles during his seven-season spell with Liverpool, highlighted the huge desire to win at this club, stressing that the Premier League giants have everything needed to succeed.
“This club fights to win everything,” he said. “With the talent we have, there’s no reason we can’t keep winning. We’ve got some of the best players in the world, and I work hard every day to win it all.”
The Egyptian international has scored 221 goals and contributed 97 assists in 366 appearances since joining from Roma in 2017.
Salah reflected on the pressure of the 2019 Champions League final when he converted a second-minute penalty, helping his side claim a 2-0 victory over Tottenham and win the title.
“I practiced all week to aim for one side, but just before taking the shot, I changed my mind. Even though I scored, I look back and think, ‘Why did I change my mind?’” he said, adding that such high-stakes moments are crucial in shaping a player’s mental toughness.
Salah’s future with Liverpool remains unclear, as the 32-year-old's contract with the club expires next summer, but both parties have yet to reach an agreement concerning a contract extension.
