In Photos: Egyptian army chief discusses military cooperation with Turkish counterpart

Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces Lieutenant-General Ahmed Khalifa discussed military cooperation on Thursday with his Turkish counterpart Metin Gürak and his accompanying delegation, who are currently on an official visit to Egypt for several days.

Both leaders attended a formal reception ceremony at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Defence, with military bands playing the national anthems of both countries.

The meeting included discussions on several topics and issues of mutual interest, given the military cooperation and exchange of expertise between the Egyptian and Turkish armed forces.

The Egyptian armed forces chief highlighted the depth of the bilateral partnership and cooperation, as well as the coordination of efforts to achieve common interests and support prospects for military cooperation and knowledge exchange between the armed forces of both sides.

For his part, the Turkish armed forces chief expressed his appreciation for the deep ties and relations between the two friendly countries, affirming his country’s commitment to strengthening military ties between the armed forces of both sides in the coming period.

Several senior military leaders from both countries attended the meeting, along with the Turkish ambassador and the Turkish military attaché in Cairo.
