This came in a meeting with his Cypriot counterpart, Constantinos Kombos, on the sidelines of the Sir Bani Yas Forum held in the United Arab Emirates, according to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, FM Abdelatty praised the distinguished Egyptian-Cypriot relations and the cooperation at various levels, highlighting the strategic nature of the bilateral relationship and the aspiration to develop it further across all fields.
He pointed to the importance of intensifying joint economic events to boost investment and trade cooperation, particularly in sectors like energy, agriculture, tourism, maritime transport, and fisheries.
Moreover, Abdelatty underscored Egypt’s stance towards enhancing cooperation in employing Egyptian workers in Cyprus.
He also highlighted Egypt's commitment to hosting the 10th summit within the framework of the trilateral cooperation mechanism between Egypt, Cyprus, and Greece, as well as the second session of the High Governmental Committee chaired by the presidents of both nations.
According to a short statement issued by Kombos on his official social media accounts, the discussions between him and his Egyptian counterpart also extended to Egyptian-European relations and current developments in the region, in addition to Egyptian-Cypriot relations.
