The song, his first collaboration with Abulyazeid, was written by Maraka, with an arrangement by Maher El-Mallakh and lyrics by Mohamed Beheiry.
"Let’s take the road and go together to the end. My mind is free; my heart is on pause," Maraka sings as the melody filled with joy takes us to Korba, an area at Heliopolis, Cairo.
Directed by Beshoy Yassa, the music video released on YouTube last Monday shows Maraka walking across Korba. As the evening falls, he plays a white grand piano on the street, surrounded by fans and soon joined by Abulzayed.
The video takes listeners to the beautiful Cairo neighbourhoods, and the music adds a light, positive spirit to the composition.
As the song began trending on YouTube, it scored more than 65,000 views in the first 24 hours.
Aziz Maraka, born in 1983, is a Jordanian singer, songwriter, and producer of Palestinian descent.
His career started with Bent El-Nas, his first hit on the self-titled debut album in 2008.
The album helped Maraka propagate his music style, which he calls Razz — a fusion of Arabic rock and jazz performed in the Jordanian dialect.
Currently, Cairo-based Maraka performs frequently in Jordan, where he has a large fan base, in addition to many concerts in Egypt and across the Arab region.
In addition to his well-established solo career, Maraka enjoys collaborating with various artists, including Egyptian musicians Tamer Hosny, Abyusif, and Sharmoofers; Amman-based Palestinian singer-songwriter Noel Kharman; singer Raji El-Jaru; and Sudanese rapper Ghayaz Alagha, to name just a few.
Through these collaborations, he has explored different music genres within the Arab world and internationally.
