Morsy, 33, has not received a call-up since Hassan took charge, despite featuring regularly for Ipswich in the Premier League this season.
“Joining the national team? I think I won’t be part of the Pharaohs at the moment, maybe not under the current coach,” the Egypt international told reporters.
The veteran midfielder represented Egypt in the 2018 World Cup with nine international caps.
“He hasn’t contacted me, and maybe he’s made it clear that I’m not in his plans. But you never know what can happen in football,” Morsy added.
Morsy is also walking a disciplinary tightrope in the Premier League. If he received a yellow card in Sunday’s clash with Manchester United, he will face a potential suspension in his team’s match against Nottingham Forest. The Ipswich captain has accumulated four bookings this season, just one away from the threshold for suspension.
“I don’t think much about avoiding yellow cards; getting booked for something silly like kicking the ball away would be a crime, but you can’t let it distract you. You just play,” Morsy said.
Ipswich Town currently languish in 19th place in the league table with eight points, while Manchester United sit mid-table in 12th with 15 points.
