Rennes and Ghana defender Alidu Seidu suffers serious knee injury

Rennes and Ghana defender Alidu Seidu is expected to be sidelined for several months after a serious left knee injury.

Seidu ruptured a cruciate ligament during the 1-0 loss to Lille in Ligue 1 on Sunday and left the pitch after just 18 minutes.

Struggling Rennes, which recently appointed Jorge Sampaoli as coach, is in 15th place. Rennes' 11 points after 12 games are its lowest tally in the top flight at this stage since 2002.
