Zamalek begin their CAF Confederation Cup group stage campaign on Wednesday with what could be an easy task against Mozambique’s Black Bulls at Cairo International Stadium.

Zamalek vs Police

The match marks the start of Group D action, featuring Egypt’s Masry and Nigeria’s Enyimba.

Zamalek, defending champions, aim for a strong start on home soil to bounce back from a league defeat to Masry on Saturday.

The White Knights produced a poor performance against Masry as they appeared far from their form.

Coach Jose Gomes admitted that his side committed many mistakes against Masry, vowing not to repeat these mistakes again.

The Portuguese coach will count on winger Ahmed ‘Zizo’ Sayed to lead the attack which struggeled against Masry.

On the other hand, the visiting Black Bulls arrive in Cairo after an exhausting domestic season, having played over 40 matches.

Despite dealing with the absence of their key attacking duo, Vitinho and Ayuba Abubakar, due to injuries, head coach Helder Duarte remains optimistic.

He described the encounter as a chance to showcase Mozambican football on the continental stage and vowed to play without fear or excessive defensive caution.
