President El-Sisi made the remarks during a press conference in Cairo on Saturday with the Transitional President of Gabon, Brice Oligui Nguema.
During the presser, El-Sisi said that Gabon is undergoing a successful, peaceful transition process to achieve its people's aspirations for democracy and change, noting that various regional and international parties are following and appreciating this process.
The Egyptian president congratulated Nguema on the successful completion of the referendum on the new Gabonese constitution, affirming that it represents a milestone towards the completion of the transitional process.
President El-Sisi said that Nguema's visit to Cairo is part of both countries' keenness to achieve African integration, expressing Egypt's appreciation of Gabon's vital role in the Central Africa region.
"I also commend the ongoing coordination between both countries on issues of interest to Africa and endeavours to achieve stability and development across the continent," the Egyptian president said.
El-Sisi added that both sides had addressed various regional issues and joint efforts to establish security and stability in their regional surroundings.
"We agreed on the importance of continuing consultation and coordination on these issues so as to ensure achieving peace and security in the African continent," he said.
In their meeting before the presser, both leaders also discussed bilateral cooperation in various fields, particularly trade and investment.
"We agreed on the need to increase trade exchange and bolster ties between the private sectors in both countries," El-Sisi said.
They also agreed on the priority of implementing infrastructure projects in Gabon, including the construction of new roads and projects in electricity and sanitation, to support development efforts in Gabon.
Moreover, both leaders discussed strengthening Egypt's support for Gabon in the health sector and creating opportunities to use Egyptian medicine in the Gabonese market.
They also explored ways to boost cooperation in agriculture, renewable energy, industry, transportation, and capability-building for Gabonese cadres.
Gabon's Investment Potentials
The Gabonese president affirmed his country's commitment to strengthening relations with Egypt at all levels, calling on Egyptian companies and businessmen to invest in Gabon.
"In this transitional phase, we are working to restore our institutions and implement our peaceful programmes," Nguema said during the presser.
He also congratulated President El-Sisi on constructing the New Administrative Capital and looked forward to seeing such achievements in his country.
In August 2017, El-Sisi visited Gabon on the first visit by an Egyptian president to the Central African nation.
