An Egyptian-French consortium has expressed interest in Egypt’s looming tender to manage and operate airports, a cabinet statement revealed on Sunday.

The consortium, which includes Egyptian construction firm Hassan Allam Alliance and French airport operator Groupe ADP, presented its offer to Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly earlier on Sunday.

Madbouly emphasized the government's commitment to offering airports for private sector management under its initial public offering (IPO) program, which is part of the State Ownership Policy Document.

"We look forward to seeing Groupe ADP as one of the companies competing for the IPOs program," he stated.

Madbouly first revealed that Egypt had plans to privatize airports in November 2023.

According to the cabinet's statement, the French group expressed interest in forming long-term partnerships to modernize airports, enhance services, and support airlines and cargo operators.

Groupe ADP's Executive Vice President, Xavier Hurstil, told Madbouly that in 2023, the company received over 336.5 million passengers at 26 airports it operates in 18 countries.
