FM Abdelatty made these remarks during a joint press conference with UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed on the sidelines of the Cairo Ministerial Conference to Enhance the Humanitarian Response in Gaza.

During the presser, he stated that discussions with Hamas and Fatah aim to quickly reach a mutual agreement on managing daily life in Gaza under the full control of the Palestinian Authority (PA).

He said they also target implementing recovery projects and empowering the authority to take over once the occupation ends.

Moreover, Egypt's top diplomat clarified that the talks saw a clear plan for moving towards establishing a Palestinian state.

Specific plans to enable the PA to manage the Gaza Strip after the war ends were also presented, he added, reiterating the demand for Israel to withdraw and hand over the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing to the PA.

Furthermore, Abdelatty stressed Egypt’s ongoing efforts to mediate a ceasefire deal between Hamas and Israel to end the Palestinian bloodshed.

Presented proposals include the release of all captives and some Palestinian detainees, along with taking concrete steps to enable the PA to govern Gaza effectively.

Minister Abdelatty also noted that the area adjacent to the Rafah border crossing has become a battlefield, which endangers aid workers.

According to sources who spoke with Al-Quds newspaper on Monday, the current round of talks began on Sunday afternoon.

The Hamas delegation is headed by Khalil Al-Hayya, who is serving as the acting leader of the group following the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh and Yahya Sinwar by Israel.

The Egyptian officials are led by Major General Hassan Rashad, head of Egypt's General Intelligence Service.

Hamas spokesman Jihad Taha said Saturday that the Cairo visit is part of ongoing efforts to halt the aggression against Palestinians in Gaza.

He emphasized that managing the strip is a Palestinian internal matter to be determined through consensus among all national factions.
