The incident was reported to Minya’s Security Directorate, prompting swift action by police, water rescue teams, and river navigation units.
According to an official from Beni Mazar district, the ship was en route from Akhenaten Marina in Minya to Beni Suef Governorate when it ran aground near an island.
Fifty-seven German and two French tourists were among the passengers, all reported to be in good condition.
Upon arriving at the site, authorities conducted inspections and confirmed the safety of the passengers.
Rescue operations included deploying a tugboat to assist in freeing the vessel and restoring it to navigable waters.
The ship was stabilized, allowing it to resume its journey down the Nile. Authorities have emphasized their commitment to ensuring the safety of tourists and maintaining smooth river navigation.
