On Thursday, the Cairo giants were handed a balanced Group in the prestigious competition, which will take place in the US after being drawn in Group A alongside Palmeiras of Brazil, FC Porto of Portugal, and US side Inter Miami.

The FIFA Club World Cup, traditionally held annually in December, has been rescheduled for 15 June to 13 July. It will take place in 11 cities across the US.

According to the announced dates on Saturday, the Red Devils will kick off their campaign in the tournament against Inter Miami on 14 June at 08:00 PM Cairo time (GMT +2) at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, US.

Ahly’s second game against Palmeiras will be played on 19 June at MetLife Stadium at 08:00 PM Cairo time (GMT+2).

The third match between Ahly and FC Porto will be held on 23 June at 09:00 PM Cairo time (GMT+2) at MetLife Stadium.

The top two teams from each of the tournament’s eight groups will progress to round 16 of this expanded tournament, which now includes 32 teams.

This new format of the Club World Cup with 32 teams is a departure from the previous seven-team structure. Furthermore, the Club World Cup will henceforth be held every four years, aligning with the schedule of the FIFA World Cup for national teams.
