The Arab League also called on all Syrians to put the nation's interest above all else. It urged all Syrian parties to control weapons to preserve lives and work to complete the political transition process in a peaceful, comprehensive, and safe manner.
The General Secretariat stressed that preserving Syria's territorial integrity and sovereignty and rejecting foreign interference in all its forms remain pivotal and essential elements in the Arab consensus regarding Syria and that they must be preserved and defended.
Furthermore, the General Secretariat called on all forces interested in achieving regional and international stability to support the Syrian people in traversing the difficult transitional period ahead, including by lifting any sanctions to enable Syrians to move toward broader horizons.
The Secretariat also confirmed that it would not hesitate to support Syria, which it described as an Arab country with a long history and a huge contribution to human civilization.
It concluded by reiterating its condemnation of Israel's exploitation of the internal situation in Syria to illegally change the status quo in the Golan Heights, whether by occupying additional lands there or terminating the 1974 disengagement agreement.
