Mohamed proudly claimed to be the first actor with albinism in Arab cinema. He started his journey with The Tale of Daye's Family, which opened the Red Sea International Film Festival.
“I used to face problems when young children looked at me strangely because of my albinism, but I was always confident; I always wanted to be a famous and successful actor,” he said.
Mohamed told Al-Ahram that the beginning of his film journey started with a request he posted on Facebook. Later, he was invited for a personal interview.
“After a week, they told me I was accepted for the film, and we started filming. I was featured in two important scenes that I was keen to deliver perfectly,” he added.
“Never be afraid of people, no matter how different you are. If you have something special, thank God for it and show great confidence, and you will be beautiful in the eyes of anyone,” the young actor pointed out as one of the film's most important messages.
Mohamed revealed that he learned the Nubian dialect for his role in the film. “I learned the Nubian dialect, which took me a long time. We had a dialect coach, and I was able to memorize the Nubian song and the dialogue I had with the prominent singer Mohamed Mounir in the film.”
“I've always wanted to act, and the film was my first experience,” Mohamed explained.
“The film’s director, Karim El-Shennawi, used to direct me before each scene in a way that made the scene closer to reality,” he continued.
Mohamed confirmed that he is considering studying acting at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts or the High Cinema Institute. He expressed a desire to focus on acting and become a successful actor.
Moreover, he said he might consider studying music at the Faculty of Music Education.
The Egyptian-Saudi co-produced film also features Saudi actress Aseel Omran, who is marking her debut in Egyptian cinema, Sudanese actress Islam Mubarak, and Egyptian actress Haneen Said.
The Tale of Daye's Family, written by Haitham Dabbour, follows the story of an 11-year-old albino Nubian boy who dreams of going on a magical journey from south to north Egypt to pursue his dream of becoming a singer.
