During his visit to Robbiki City, Madbouly announced that 100 factories are now ready in the project's third phase to manufacture leather goods, enhancing Egypt’s export capabilities in this sector.
He described the city as a "civilizational leap in the leather industry and related products."
The prime minister emphasized that Egypt's leather export capacity is expected to exceed one billion dollars annually through this large-scale project, a significant increase from the tens of millions of dollars in the past.
He explained that the project spans 500 acres and is being developed in several stages.
The first stage involved the establishment of tanneries, including more than 195 facilities, which were relocated from the Sur Magri Al-Ayon area.
During his tour in the city, Madbouly oversaw the delivery of the first batch of contracts to regularize the status of businesses that have already moved to the area.
Furthermore, he noted that the project's second stage includes establishing factories for producing adhesives, gelatin, and other crucial products for the leather industry.
PM Madbouly pointed out that, historically, this industry in Egypt has primarily focused on processing leather and exporting it in its raw form.
However, he clarified that the new vision aims to integrate leather manufacturing with the production of finished goods, boosting Egypt's competitiveness on the global stage.
The project's third phase will focus on setting up factories to manufacture finished leather products, including leather garments, shoes, and other related items.
Robbiki City, established in 2020, was created to strengthen Egypt's industrial landscape, focusing on the leather industry.
The city provides cutting-edge infrastructure and facilities that support manufacturers, optimize production processes, and foster growth.
