Tablet Elsitt - music

The troupe consists of women percussionists.
Founded by folk music student and enthusiast Soha Mohamed in 2019, the group is restoring Egypt’s musical heritage.
Hany Adel - music
Wednesday 11 December and Sunday 15 December, 8pm
Room Art Space & Café, 10 Etihad Al Mohamin St., Garden City
Hany Adel is a well-known guitarist, vocalist, screen actor, and the founding member of the famous rock band Wust El-Balad.
Adel will perform acoustic songs with his friends, including bassist Ahmed Hany, accordionist Wael El-Sayed, percussionist Ayman Mabrouk, and guitarist Andrew Maher.
New films across cinemas
Thursday 12 December brings several new films to movie theatres across Egypt:
- Kraven the Hunter, starring Russell Crowe, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Ariana DeBose.
- The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, starring Luke Pasqualino, Brian Cox, and Gaia Wise.
- River of Blood, starring Joseph Millson, Ella Starbuck, and Sarah Alexandra.

Ali El-Haggar - music

The concert will feature some of El-Haggar’s songs from TV series and shows.
El-Haggar has been — and still is — one of the best-known singers in Egypt and the Arab world over the past four decades.
His songs carry lyrics drawn from the poetry of Salah Jahin, Abdel-Rahman El-Abnoudy, and Sayed Hegab to music by the country's most renowned composers, such as Baligh Hamdy, Sayed Mekkawy, and Omar Khairat.
Amr Selim - concert

Renowned pianist Amr Selim is known for performing classical music, including Arabic and Western pieces.
Religious Song Ensemble - music
Thursday 12 December, 8pm
Gomhouria Theatre, Gomhouria Street, Downtown, Cairo
Conducted by maestro Omar Farahat, the concert will feature Heba Adel, Omnia Samir, Hossam Sakr, and Ahmed Nafea.
Performing religious chants, El-Enshad El-Dini was founded in 1972 to preserve religious song heritage.
The first ensemble concert was held to celebrate the 6th of October victory.
Dina El-Wedidi, Aziz Maraka, and Muslim - music

El-Wedidi’s style of music is deeply rooted in Egypt, as well as Africa, as she touches on many often-contrasting cultures. She also incorporates electronic sounds into her music.
Maraka is a Jordanian singer, songwriter, and producer of Palestinian descent who began his music career by playing the piano. His success with Bent El-Nas opened the door for a thriving career and helped propagate his music style, which he calls Razz — a fusion of Arabic rock and jazz performed in the Jordanian dialect.
The night will also feature the Egyptian mahraganat singer Muslim.
Siilawy and Aziz Maraka - music

Siilawy and Aziz Maraka are Jordanian pop singers.
Sillawy is a 23-year-old singer and songwriter who quickly garnered a huge fan base across the Arab world. His song "Lama Tekoony" has amassed over 150 million views on YouTube.

Cairo Celebration Choir and Orchestra

This is the 25th Christmas season for the Cairo Celebration Choir, which was founded in 2000 and is managed by Nayer Nagui.
Over the past years, the choir has given many concerts at the Cairo Opera House, becoming one of the core events celebrating the Christmas season at the opera.
The choir performs Christmas carols and songs, joined by soloists from the Cairo Opera House and beyond.
Medhat Saleh - music

Medhat Saleh is one of the leading stars of the Egyptian music scene.
Among his best-known songs are Kawkab Tany (Another Planet), Wala Teswa Domoe (Not Worth the Tears), and El-Donia Alemetny (Life Taught Me), as well as dozens of film scores like Mafia, El-Beliatsho (The Clown), and Amir El-Zalam (Prince of Darkness), to name but a few.
He has released numerous albums and starred in several films, TV series, and plays.
The concert will feature pianist Amr Selim and an orchestra led by maestro Ahmed Amer.
Tamer Ashour - music

Singer and composer Tamer Ashour came into the spotlight in the mid-2000s.
Ever since, he has released seven albums establishing himself as one of the most popular performers in Egypt and the Arab world. His breakthrough as a singer came with the release of his debut single Zekrayat Kedaba (Lying Memories) in 2006.
The song's success led Ashour to work on his first album Saab (Difficult), released in 2007. This was followed with consecutive albums: Had Byheb (2008), Laya Nazra (2011), Esht Maak (2014), Khayali (2017), Ayam (2019), and Tegy Netrahen (2022).
Omar Khairat - concert
Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 December, 8pm

Born in 1947, the multi-award-winning Khairat is one of the top musicians of the Arab world with hundreds of memorized compositions in his repertoire.
Throughout his long and successful career, he has written scores for numerous films and television series, including The Sixth Day (1984), The Terrorist (1993), Mafia (2002), Girl’s Love (2003), The Embassy in the Building (2005), and Deer’s Blood (2006), to name but a few.
His concerts in Egypt and across the Arab world are usually fully booked weeks ahead of time with his large fan base singing along and humming along to compositions like Heya Di El-Hayah, Fi Hawid El Leil, Arabian Rhapsody, Fiha Haga Helwa, Eadam Mayet, El-Khawaga Abdel-Kader, Giran El-Hana, Saber, Arfa, Qadeyet Am Ahmed, Khali Balak Men Aklak, and other classic hits of time-honoured TV and film themes.
Gala El-Hadidi's Christmas concert

Accompanied by the pianist Greig Martin, mezzo-soprano Gala El-Hadidi returns with her annual Christmas concert.
The Germany-based Egyptian singer made her debut at the age of 17 on the main stage of the Cairo Opera House, one year before signing a contract with the Cairo Opera House to become the youngest soloist ever there.
El-Hadidi studied with tenor Sobhi Bidair, Tom Krause in Finland, and Marylin Horne in the US. She also studied at the International Bach Academy in Stuttgart. She has worked with famous conductors, including Christian Thielemann, and with singers Juan-Diego Florez, Waltraud Meier, and Evelyn Herlitzius. She performed on stages, including the Berlin Philharmonic, Stuttgart Liederhalle, Auditorio Nacional de Madrid, Kennedy Centre, and Cadogan Hall in London.
