The 25-year-old left-back sustained his injury during his side’s 2-2 draw against Nigeria's Enyimba in the CAF Confederation Club group stage match on Sunday as he was substituted at halftime.
“Bentayg sustained an injury in the joint between the clavicle and the shoulder blade,” team's doctor Mohamed Osama said on Tuesday.
“ He is expected to be sidelined for three to four weeks.”
Bentayg joined Zamalek on a one-season loan from French side Saint-Etienne last summer, with an option to make the move permanent.
Zamalek will face Masry on Sunday 15 December at Alexandria’s Borg Al-Arab Stadium in the CAF Confederation Cup group stage.
