Egypt’s United Media Services appoints new board led by Tarek Nour

United Media Services (UMS) announced on Tuesday that it partnered with Tarek Nour Communications (TNC) and the Mehwar TV channel to develop a future strategy for enhancing Egypt's media sector.

As part of this partnership, a new board has been appointed, with Tarek Nour taking on the role of UMS chairman of its board and Tarek Makhlouf becoming managing director.

The new board members include Seif Al-Waziri, Mohamed Al-Saadi, Tamer Morsi, Ahmed Tarek, Amr El-Feki, Sherif El Khouli, and Amr El-Khayat.

Moreover, TNC will bring specialized media experts in partnership with the current management team.

The new board also thanked the previous board for its contributions over the past period.

Founded in 2016, UMS has become one of the largest media conglomerates in the Arab World. It owns over 40 subsidiaries spanning various media sectors, including television, radio, print, digital media, dramatic production, advertising, and direct and indirect advertising services.

UMS owns several prominent media outlets, including Qnews, the ON TV Network, El-Hayah TV Network, CBC TV Network, DMC Network, Extra News channel, Al-Youm7 newspaper, Al-Watan newspaper, Sout El-Omma, Ain, DotMsr, and the Egypt Today and Business Today magazines.

Additionally, UMS includes the PR agency POD, the media production company Synergy, and the sports agency Presentation.

Meanwhile, Nour is a prominent figure in Egypt's advertising industry. He began his career in the early 1980s after founding his advertising agency in 1978, the first private agency in Egypt.

Nour's agency played a significant role in revolutionizing advertising techniques in Egypt.

It has become one of the country’s leading agencies and expanded into media production, with a focus on films and TV series.

Today, the TNC operates as a major institution, comprising 14 companies in various sectors, including digital media and production.
