All of Egypt’s four participating football clubs in the African Champions League and Confederation Cup are leading their respective groups after two games. Over the weekend, in Group C of the Champions League, current champions Ahly of Egypt and Orlando Pirates of South Africa fought to a scoreless draw, resulting in both teams now with four points each and heading their group after two games.
In Group D, Pyramids of Egypt also lead the group with four points, tied with Esperance of Tunisia. Pyramids and Djoliba of Mali ended scoreless.
In the Confederation Cup, defending champion Zamalek of Egypt and country teammate Masri are one-two in Group D with four points from two games. Zamalek had tied 2-2 with Enyimba of Nigeria while Masri and Black Bulls of Mozambique also drew 1-1. In the group, Enyimba and Black Bulls have a point apiece.
