The amendment equates those who evade testing with individuals confirmed to have tested positive for drug use.
The proposed amendment adds a second paragraph to Article 76 of the Traffic Law, stipulating that anyone who deliberately and without legitimate justification evades or refuses to undergo drug testing will face the same penalties applicable to individuals driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol outlined in the article’s first paragraph.
The new amendments will be proposed to the parliament for approval.
These penalties include imprisonment for at least one year for individuals driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol or those driving against traffic on public roads, whether inside or outside urban areas.
