The match is scheduled to take place in Doha on Saturday, with the winner advancing to face European champions Real Madrid on Wednesday in Qatar.
Pachuca secured a well-deserved victory against the Copa Libertadores champions, who were favored to win but failed to demonstrate their prowess during the game.
Moroccan striker Oussama Idrissi opened the scoring in the 50th minute after solo effort, while substitute midfielder Nelson Deossa doubled the lead six minutes after the stroke of the hour-mark.
Striker Salomon Rondon confirmed the victory with a goal ten minutes from time, sealing Pachuca's spot in the semifinals.
Ahly have a history against the Mexican side, having faced them in the FIFA Club World Cup quarterfinals in the 2008 edition, where they suffered a 4-2 defeat in Japan.
The Red Devils couldn't maintain their first-half 2-0 lead, ultimately losing 4-2 after extra time.
Ahly advanced to the semifinals by defeating UAE side Al-Ain 3-0 in the quarters in Cairo in October.
Despite making their tenth appearance in the World tournament, the African champions have yet to reach the final in their previous nine participations.
They have secured the bronze medal in the World tournament on four occasions.
