The CBE reported closing foreign exchange rates of EGP 50.91/$1 for buying and EGP 50.77/$1 for selling.
Last Thursday, the pound exchange rate exceeded EGP 50 against the US dollar for the first time since March.
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly stated last week that the value of the Egyptian pound has fluctuated by four to five percent, ranging between EGP 47 and EGP 49 per dollar, since Egypt adopted a flexible exchange rate in March.
He added that similar fluctuations are anticipated in the upcoming months, based on the dollar's demand.
On Thursday, the Commercial International Bank (CIB) reported the highest dollar exchange rates: EGP 50.8/$1 for buying and EGP 50.9/$1 for selling.
Meanwhile, the Arab African International Bank (AAIB) reported exchange rates of EGP 50.9/$1 for buying and EGP 50.8/$1 for selling.
The National Bank of Egypt (NBE), Banque Misr, and Banque du Caire reported exchange rates of EGP 50.79/$1 for buying and EGP 50.89/$1 for selling.
Euro
According to the CBE, the euro also increased by 1.3 percent on Thursday to EGP 53.46/euro for selling, compared to EGP 52.76/euro last Thursday.
For buying, it reached EGP 53.31/euro, compared to EGP 52.61/euro last Thursday.
The CIB reported the highest euro exchange rates, with EGP 53.60/euro for selling and EGP 53.18/euro for buying.
Banque Misr and Banque du Caire reported EGP 53.29/euro for buying and EGP 53.58/euro for selling.
NBE reported EGP 53.58/euro for selling and EGP 53.17/euro for buying.
The AAIB reported EGP 53.30/euro for selling and EGP 53.59/euro for buying.
