Forensic investigators have concluded that five gas cylinders caused an explosion that destroyed the Abu-Rabie restaurant in Alexandria's Miami district on Monday.
A medical source at a hospital in East Alexandria said 32 people had been admitted with injuries.
Six restaurant workers in a critical condition with burns have been transferred to the main university hospital, according the source.
Twenty-six people suffering from smoke inhalation have since been discharged.
Two of the injured are firefighters, the source added.
