El-Sisi's remarks came during his visit to the Police Academy, where he was received by Minister of Interior Mahmoud Tawfik and a number of senior officials, according to the Egyptian presidency.
The president also warned against the dangerous impact of rumours spreading via social media regarding the kidnapping of women and children, emphasizing that Egypt’s adversaries persist in attempting to undermine the state.
However, he expressed confidence in the unity and resilience of the Egyptian people, who are the nation's ultimate shield along with the Armed Forces and the police.
State modernization efforts
During the visit, El-Sisi also spoke with the students, addressing local, regional, and global issues, and listened to their opinions to assess their awareness and cultural understanding.
He illuminated the new government facilities being constructed in the New Administrative Capital, which are financed by the Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) company.
He also highlighted the company’s journey from having no resources to successfully establishing major landmarks, including presidential buildings.
The president revealed that the company, which receives EGP 10 billion annually from the government, has achieved financial success, with EGP 80 billion in bank accounts and EGP 150 billion in receivables from real estate developers.
Furthermore, El-Sisi shed light on other new cities, such as New Alamein, emphasizing that the government alone could not have built more than 10 percent of these projects.
"We successfully turned unused lands into valuable assets," the president said.
Major developmental projects
El-Sisi also discussed plans to develop Egypt's strategic ports and create a logistical zone along the Suez Canal, a key route that handles 13 percent of global trade.
The president added that the government also focuses on agriculture, with plans to have four million acres of land by 2026, emphasizing the importance of preserving agricultural land and calling its encroachment a "significant threat" to the environment.
Moreover, the president touched on Egypt's focus on renewable and clean energy projects, including producing green hydrogen, ammonia, wind power, and solar energy, with plans to export them to the European markets.
He also commended the achievements of the Haya Karima (Decent Life) initiative in improving rural communities, particularly through expanded sewage systems and water treatment and recycling projects.
In addition, the president revealed the state’s readiness to inaugurate the Grand Egyptian Museum, which will showcase the complete Tutankhamun collection for the first time and include new roads to improve access.
However, he noted that Egypt’s annual general budget requires EGP 50 trillion, while the GDP stands at EGP 18 trillion, indicating that the general budget is limited to only EGP 3 trillion.
He also underlined Egypt’s participation in economic groups like BRICS and the D-8 to foster mutually beneficial partnerships with other nations.
Revolutionizing higher education
The president also addressed Egypt's plans to expand higher education to have one university for every million citizens, a target he said is nearing completion.
He clarified that new private universities are being established in partnership with internationally ranked institutions to provide high-quality education.
El-Sisi added that reducing the number of the 30,000 students studying abroad, who spend around $400 million to $1 billion annually, supports the universities' operational funding.
He also encouraged students to pursue in-demand fields like computer science, telecommunications, and information systems, announcing plans for establishing a new facility to support the 2,000 graduates pursuing master's degrees.
Aspiring police cadets
Meanwhile, El-Sisi also reviewed the tests of students applying to join the Police College, praising their keenness to serve the country.
He directed officials to continue applying objective standards to ensure the selection of the most distinguished elements, which contributes to improving the police's performance.
Additionally, he highlighted the police's pivotal role in consolidating the pillars of national security by preparing new generations of distinguished policemen.
The president also acknowledged the policemen's great sacrifices in protecting the country and confronting terrorism, which shows the Egyptians' authenticity in facing challenges.
