A statement released by the Egyptian military spokesman on Sunday said the step comes within the framework of strengthening joint military cooperation relations between the Egyptian and French Naval Forces to support and enhance the Navy's capabilities.

Lieutenant General Ashraf Atwa, Commander of the Egyptian Navy, attended the signing of the agreement.

The agreement aims to discuss ways to exchange knowledge and expertise in hydrography and oceanography and explore opportunities for future cooperation between the Marine Survey Division and the French Hydrography Department.

This collaboration should enhance both parties' practical capabilities, implement the International Hydrographic Organization's framework, and achieve a qualitative leap in developing navigation and surveying services.

It also aims to localize technology and manufacture digital and marine maps according to international standards, thus enhancing common interests and supporting capabilities for all marine activities in line with the state's sustainable development plan.
