The Dialogue's affirmation came during the board meeting on Saturday at the National Training Academy's headquarters. It coincides with the Egyptian state reiterating that the regional situation requires the solidarity of all citizens to protect the nation from any threats.
According to a statement issued by the Board, the National Dialogue invited Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty to meet and discuss the latest regional developments and the government's strategies for addressing these issues in the short and medium term.
The board meeting also reviewed the ongoing discussions in the National Dialogue sessions regarding the subsidy issue after receiving proposals from political parties, civil society, experts, and citizens through the technical secretariat.
The National Dialogue emphasized almost finishing preparations for the sessions on this critical issue. The Dialogue said it will hold public, specialized, and technical sessions in which representatives of diverse political parties, civil society, trade unions, and youth shall participate.
Furthermore, the Board urged the government to delay any actions regarding the subsidy until the Dialogue has completed its discussions and issued its final recommendations on a date that will soon be announced.
The National Dialogue was initiated in May 2023 following President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi's call to tackle Egypt's various political, economic, and social challenges.
