The capital market lost nearly EGP 24 billion to end trading at EGP 2.199 trillion amid total transactions hitting EGP 41.529 billion.
The EGX 30 benchmark index decreased 0.84 percent to reach 30,118.38 points.
The broader EGX 70 EWI index of the leading small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) declined 2.67 percent to register 8,227.2 points.
The all-embracing EGX 100 index was also down 2.25 percent to close at 11,298.43 points.
