Egypt FM, Chad president stress intensifying consultations on Sudan crisis

Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty and Chad's president Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno stressed Friday the importance of intensifying consultations in light of the direct impact of developments in Sudan on Egypt and Chad.

This came during a meeting in Chad’s N'Djamena to discuss a number of regional issues of mutual interest. They reviewed efforts to resolve the Sudanese crisis and end the conflict.  

Abdelatty delivered a message from President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to the Chadian president, affirming the strong historical ties between both countries and ways to develop them across various fields.

Regarding cooperation in combating terrorism and extremism, the Egyptian FM highlighted the state's vision for addressing this phenomenon through a comprehensive approach that tackles all contributing factors.  

According to the Egyptian foreign ministry, Abdelatty was accompanied by a delegation from leading Egyptian public and private sector companies, following presidential directives to support Chad and contribute to its developmental progress.

For his part, the Chadian president highlighted the fraternal relations between Egypt and Chad, appreciating Cairo's active role in promoting security and stability in Africa.  

He also welcomed the delegation of Egyptian businessmen and representatives of major companies, emphasizing the importance of strengthening economic cooperation between both countries.

During his visit to N'Djamena, Abdelatty also met with his Chadian counterpart Abderaman Koulamallah to discuss enhancing bilateral relations in political, economic, trade, investment, and other fields.

At the end of his visit, the Egyptian FM headed to Gabon on an official visit to strengthen bilateral relations in various fields and continue joint coordination on regional issues of mutual interest.
