Egypt’s Al-Azhar condemned on Saturday the Israeli army's heinous act of setting fire to wards of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza and arresting patients and doctors.

“This heinous act targeted patients and medical staff, resulting in the martyrdom of dozens of innocent people, the arrest of doctors, paramedics, and nurses, and their forced removal to undisclosed locations after being stripped of their clothing,” stated the world’s biggest Islamic Sunni institution.

“Those acts constitute a full-fledged war crime, perpetrated by ruthless, immoral gangs devoid of any sense of humanity,” added Al-Azhar.

Al-Azhar asserted that the targeting of patients and injured individuals in hospitals and healthcare facilities is a horrific moral crime that history will record with the blood of innocent victims.

“These atrocities will remain a testament to the disgrace of the perpetrators and their collaborators, who provide weapons and political support to enable further crimes.” it added.

Al-Azhar noted that this merciless, inhumane Zionist aggressor has committed every conceivable war crime against the innocent Palestinian people amid a deliberate disregard and no significant international or Arab response.

“This enemy has become emboldened by the inadequate reactions to its crimes, which, sadly, have been limited to meetings and resolutions that hold no real value beyond the ink with which they are written,” Al-Azhar said.

It also emphasized the urgent need to consider alternative and decisive measures to establish peace and justice in Palestine.
