Ahram Online , Sunday 29 Dec 2024

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced on Sunday that Wednesday, 1 January 2025, will be a holiday for all banks in Egypt on the occasion of the end of the financial year for most banks on 31 December 2024.

A CBE statement added that banking operations are set to resume on Thursday, 2 January 2025.

The financial year for banks in Egypt follows the calendar year, starting on 1 January and ending on 31 December.

This is the period during which banks close their accounts, conduct audits, and prepare financial statements.

The CBE provides guidelines for these processes, and adjustments, such as holidays for banking operations, may be made to facilitate the efficient completion of year-end procedures.
