Bourse indexes down at close of Monday trading

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indexes went down at the close of Monday's trading, backed by sales by Arab and Egyptian institutions and investors and investment funds against purchases by foreign institutions and individuals.

The market capital lost EGP 26 billion, registering EGP 2.139 trillion after transactions amounting to nearly EGP 100.9 billion.

The EGX 30 benchmark index decreased 0.91 percent to reach 29,325.2 points.

The broader EGX 70 EWI index of the leading small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) declined 1.49 percent to register 7,972.35 points.

The all-embracing EGX 100 index was also down 1.68 percent to close at 10,993.7 points.
