Egypt has 23 airports, with the Cairo International Airport being the largest.

Cairo International Airport served over 27.7 million passengers through 211.6 flights last year, compared to 26.4 million passengers and 198.9 flights in 2023.

The total number of passengers passing through other airports in 2024 reached 22.097 million through 167,684 flights, up from the 20.2 million passengers and 162,773 flights recorded in 2023.

The country targets increasing the number of passengers these airports receive annually to 72.2 million by the end of 2025 and 110 million annually in 2030.

Egypt received around 15.3 million in 2024, a nearly five percent increase from 2023.

Egypt has ambitious plans to attract 30 million tourists by 2028.

Egypt plans to outsource airports’ management and operations to the private sector, aligning with broader government efforts to increase private sector involvement in the economy.
