Orlando Pirates now lead the group with eight points, holding a slim one-point advantage over the defending champions, Ahly.
Algeria’s Belouizdad, who recently secured a 1-0 victory over Ahly, sit in third place with six points, while Stade d'Abidjan occupies the bottom spot with one point.
The home team took control early on, with forward Relebohile Mofokeng opening the scoring just 22 minutes into the game to give Orlando Pirates an early lead.
Midfielder Patrick Maswanganyi extended the lead five minutes into the second half, and Namibian midfielder Deon Hotto sealed the victory with a third goal in the 85th minute.
Orlando Pirates are now set to face Belouizdad in the upcoming fifth round on 12 January, just six days before their crucial encounter against Ahly in the final round of the group stage.
