Nabih, a former Zamalek coach, will lead the team in preparations for the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, scheduled for April 2025.

The 49-year-old previously played a crucial role as an assistant to Argentine coach Hector Cuper, helping the Pharaohs qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

“The EFA Technical Committee has approved the technical manager's report, formalizing Ossama Nabih as head coach of Egypt's youth national team,” the association announced in a statement on Saturday.

The EFA parted ways with Micale on 31 December 2024, citing financial constraints that led to failed salary reduction talks.

Micale, 55, guided Egypt to a fourth-place finish at the Paris 2024 Olympics and secured qualification for the upcoming Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
