MP Tarek Radwan, EU official discuss Egypt-EU economic ties
Tarek Radwan, head of the Egyptian Parliament's Human Rights Committee, discussed Thursday with Céline Imart, European Parliament member, the economic cooperation between Egypt and the EU.

During a meeting in Cairo, Radwan emphasized the importance of enhancing economic ties between Egypt and the EU, highlighting the state’s significant progress in renewable energy and green hydrogen projects.
Additionally, the Egyptian MP noted that Egypt is hosting more than 10 million refugees and issuing a law regulating the rights of refugees despite economic pressures resulting from regional conflicts.
He further referred to the positive measures adopted by the state, including lifting the state of emergency, launching the national dialogue, and activating the Presidential Pardon Committee.
Radwan also shed light on Egypt's significant focus on the rights of persons with disabilities and vulnerable groups, women’s empowerment, and the presidential initiative Hayah Karima (Decent Life).
Additionally, he mentioned the Egyptian parliament's role in enacting numerous legislations to enhance human rights in Egypt.
In this regard, the Egyptian MP said that discussions are underway on the Criminal Procedure Law, with consideration given to all perspectives due to its significance in guaranteeing human rights, public freedoms, and fair and equitable trials.
