Fatah stated that the Israeli war on Gaza destroyed the strip, with more than 200,000 children, women, and men martyred, injured, missing, or captured, according to the German Press Agency (DPA) on Saturday.
The movement alleged that Hamas "took refuge in civilians instead of protecting them and their homes," exacerbating catastrophic conditions in Gaza.
These conditions, Fatah noted, include widespread hunger, poverty, deprivation of basic human needs, and the collapse of essential services, including education and healthcare.
Fatah also accused Hamas of adopting a rhetoric of "outbidding and treason" based on "fabrications" and aligning with Israel's plans.
It said Hamas was attempting to incite security chaos in the West Bank through "explicit support for groups of outlaws," asserting that such actions continue to bring disaster to the Palestinian people.
"The contradictions and fabrications in Hamas's latest statement will not deceive our people, who are fully aware of the reality," Fatah said.
The group also emphasized the role of the Palestinian Authority's security services as the "natural and historical extension of the contemporary Palestinian revolution."
Fatah said these security services have "sacrificed their sons as martyrs to preserve the Palestinian national project from being tampered with or confiscated in favour of regional agendas."
In a statement earlier on Saturday, Abdul Rahman Shadid, a senior Hamas official, charged that the Palestinian Authority's crackdown on Palestinian fighters in the occupied West Bank was a "dangerous indicator of intentions" that "intersect with the goals of the (Israeli) occupation."
Shadid claimed the PA and its security services have started "to find it easy to shed Palestinian blood," citing the ongoing PA assault in Jenin camp for 38 days, during which nine Palestinians were killed, including women and children.
“What the authorities are committing is a crime and a violation of the sanctity of Palestinian blood,” said Shadid, adding that this necessitates a broad national movement to halt the “ongoing killings, displacement, and destruction in the West Bank at their hands.”
He warned that “silence in the face of these violations will only enable the Israeli occupation to persist in its plans for annexing the occupied West Bank, looting the land, and advancing its malicious agenda.”
In late 2024, Fatah and Hamas reached a tentative agreement in Cairo to jointly run the day-to-day management of social services in Gaza after the end of the Israeli war on the strip.
