The offer reportedly includes a $1.5 million loan fee for a six-month period, with an option for Al-Ettifaq to purchase the 29-year-old player permanently for $3.5 million at the end of the loan term.
Zizo's contract with Zamalek is due to run out next summer. This would allow him to leave the club as a free agent after the current season if no agreement on a renewal is reached.
Zamalek have required that the player renew his contract with the club before looking into the Saudi offer, according to local reports.
Indispensable
After joining Zamalek from the Portuguese side of Moreirense FC in 2019, Zizo quickly established himself as the team’s indispensable player for the White Knights.
He scored 79 goals in 244 appearances with the club in all competitions.
Zizo played a crucial role in guiding the team to win a host of titles, including two Egyptian Premier League titles in 2019/2020 and 202/2021, one Egypt Cup 2020/2021, Egyptian Super Cup 2019/2020, CAF Super Cup twice in 2019/2020 and 2024/2025, and CAF Confederation Cup twice in 2018/2019 and 2023/2024.
Ahmed Salem, Zamalek's official spokesperson, told ONTime Sports: "Zizo is a valued member of the Zamalek family, but negotiations are ongoing, and we expect to resolve soon."
Salem said the club's priorities include renewing the contracts of key players such as veteran midfielder Abdullah El-Said.
"We will focus on acquiring new players after these issues are resolved," he added.
Zizo has been a key component of all Pharaohs' squads since becoming an international in 2019, making 45 appearances.
